Carrie Kappel RN, LADC

Carrie joined the Board of Minnesota Nursing Peer Support Network (NPSN) in 2021 with more than 25 years of experience in nursing care. She also is the chair of the Education Committee for NPSN. She currently is employed as System Nursing Supervisor for Intermediate Mental Health at Allina Health, where she supervises multiple locations throughout the Twin Cities. Prior to this role, Carrie worked for Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Center City, MN from 2014 – 2021 functioning as the Associate Director of the Health Care Professional Program, providing care for health care professionals with substance use disorder. Carrie’s educational background includes completing her degree at Metropolitan State University as a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC) and is actively licensed in MN as both an RN and LADC. Carrie is a person in long term recovery and personally knows the journey of a nurse with substance use disorder. Carrie is passionate about reducing stigma and regularly shares her journey through public speaking to organizations and nursing students.
