Munira MaalimIsaq, DNP, RN, PHN, FNP-s

​Munira MaalimIsaq, DNP, RN, PHN, FNP-s, works as a skilled family nurse practitioner and has years of experience as a nursing home administrator accountable for the strategic, financial, and operational success of the residents. She has expertise in diversity, inclusion, and health equity. Munira is a trusted individual with a reputation for developing strong relationships with medical providers, patients, and the wider community. She has experience conducting extensive outreach in marginalized communities, educating individuals about vaccine hesitancy, chronic care management, and collaborating with health professionals to strategize on health equity in organizations. Munira successfully created a support group for Somali Americans struggling with alcoholism in Minneapolis, where community members obtain culturally sensitive and appropriate sobriety support. The program also helps engage community leaders in addressing the rising rates of alcoholism among Somali immigrants. Munira earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Management from the University of Minnesota Crookston, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Metro State University. She is currently practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at HealthPartners Clinic.
